We're using 500 mHz AMD K6-2's with 64 mb of ram for the thin clients, but
old 486's would probably work just fine. The server is a 700 mHz K6-2 with
512 mb (probably a bit of overkill, but why not?) The performance is pretty
snappy. The clients run Netscape with no window manager, so the patrons
can't get out of it.
In the future we would like to replace our Windows word processing stations
with thin clients also, using AbiWord or Word Perfect or somesuch.
