GRANT SPECIALIST - INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TRAINING SPECIALIST
Salary: $2,674 - $3,346 monthly

RESPONSIBILITIES: Identify and assess library staff's information
technology skills; design and conduct training for various skill levels and
requirements; develop an orientation program for new staff appropriate to
skill level and required job duties; evaluate training initiatives for
continuous improvement; provide support to Reference/Bibliographic
Instruction Librarians in the development of electronic information
literacy tools; provide support for web development and database
management; investigate, test, and apply technologies as they become
available. Reports to the Automation Services Librarian.
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of: current and emerging information
technologies in academic libraries; major bibliographic databases
found in academic libraries; basic statistical methods; Windows and
Macintosh computing
environments and commonly used word processing, database, spreadsheet, and
presentation software. Skill in: working effectively with staff of varying
knowledge levels; use of web authoring tools, scripting, and mark-up
languages. Ability to: instruct and train staff with various microcomputer
skill levels; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; search
the web and the Internet to retrieve desired information. Prefer an
ALA-accredited master's degree, or master's degree in education with
emphasis in information literacy; previous information technology training
experience in an academic library.
This position is grant funded for up to five years.
