Review is not a profession

George Porter writes:

"The vast majority of readers are not qualified as reviewers."

With respect to his background in science and engineering, as I have worked
in the same field, there is no way that I can agree.  I like the reviews in
Amazon and have even contributed when I knew something about the topic.
Many times I wonder if the professional reviewers have even read the book
they review.  As with nearly everything else, the more participation the
better the product.
