True, and this will always work, but the machine in
question had the RTC and BIOS battery soldered
to the motherboard in a combo unit - removing the
battery wasn't possible.

My main reason for posting was that *anyone* can
find this backdoor BIOS password info - and without
removing the battery, gain access to the BIOS.
