Drive sharing in NT environment

One NT workstation (referred as "server" for my discussion) in the library is sharing some folders on D: drive. However, when I try to map the server's drive from other workstations, I see folders named "default", "es", and "Netscape." Folders that are validly shared all appear in upper case. When I mapped these three, I found that they all contain the same Netscape default files on the server's C: drive which is not shared at all. I could even delete files in the server's cache from other workstations. Setting "not shared" for these folders at the server's Windows Explorer does not have any effects on this strange, dangerous sharing behavior. When I first set up sharing permission last May, I did not see these three folders. Our IT people do not seem to have a solution for our problem. Can anyone on this list give me some clues?
