Avoiding downloads during installation

When I downloaded Internet Explorer 5 from Microsoft's site, there was an
option to download the files and install them later. This is handy when I'm
installing a new PC, so I don't have to download 40-odd megs every time.

However, I do go back to Microsoft for any updates and bug fixes, and there
doesn't seem to be any option to download those files for later installation,
except for the 128-bit Domestic Security Patch (which I stumbled onto elsewhere
on the site).

My current peeve is QuickTime, which in version 4 only lets you download a
small installer executable, and then forces you to go to their site to get the
rest. It's not the time that's frustrating me (it's only a little over 3
megs), but the fact that I haven't been able to get in for 3 days. QuickTime 3
didn't have this problem.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
