Configuring two domains on one server

We are looking at hosting another domain name from our web server.  We
are running NT4 (sp4) and IIS 4.  This second domain will be an alias
that will link to our server.  I am curious if anyone on the list has
done this?  Is it best to set up a virtual directory or virtual server
(with it's own IP)?  The folks I am setting this up for want to have
indexing and searching available.  I want to know which would be the
most secure and functional.
