I use the older version of Ghost (Binary Software?) to restore about 11
public Internet workstations, plus 2 OPAC stations.
There's one master file containing the Internet workstation disk
image. This is "ghosted" to the individual workstations as needed.
That generally works well, with two caveats:
1. After loading the image file, on startup the computer will reconfigure
itself (memory, cards, etc. mapping into different memory locatios from
computer to computer). This might take up to 15 minutes. (Not Applicable
if a separate Ghost image file is maintained for each machine).
2. Don't forget to change the network id once the machine is loaded with
the new image (again, not applicable if each machine has its own image
file).
We're looking at the new Norton Ghost, but some of the other products
mentioned in other posts might be better for our needs. . .
