Tony,
We have gone the route of publishing one of the local papers on our site and
are using MS Index Server to make it searchable.
It lacks the benefits of field specific indexes, but it's simple to
maintain.

Subject: [WEB4LIB] Indexing a Local Newspaper Index on the Web
We have just begun a project to index our local newspaper. Our
plan is to create an database of the information and link it or
publish it so that it is searchable on or from our web site.
I know that this is possible using MS Access and FrontPage (both
of which we already have). I have only just begun to read up on
*how* to actually do it however. <smile> Before I get too far into
the nuts & bolts I thought I'd check and see if anyone else has
undertaken a similar project.
Is anyone maintaining a dynamically searchable database on their
website? What program(s) are you using to create/maintain the
database?
Any comments or suggestions? Thanks in advance!
