Hi Joan:

Rather than formulating a list on tools, I think the best thing would be to
familiarize yourself with the general resources available online--see what
they're doing and take it from there. What do I mean by "general
resources"? Try these on for size:

  Webmonkey <http://www.hotwired.com/webmonkey/frontdoor/index.html>
    -- good for tutorials
  Builder.com <http://www.builder.com/>
    -- part of CNET
  Webreview.com <http://webreview.com/wr/pub>
    -- good for articles/reviews
  D-Lib Magazine <http://www.dlib.org/>
    -- library oriented articles
  Internet.com (developer section) including WebDeveloper and WebReference
<http://www.dlib.org/>
  Web Page Design for Designers <http://www.wpdfd.com/>
  ProjectCool <http://www.projectcool.com/>
  Developer.com <http://www.developer.com/>
