What ftp client do you use at home? Does it have
configuration settings for talking to different servers?

For instance, if you use the wsftp32.exe client (from
Ipswitch), the version I use allows you to specify what
type of host you are contacting. There are about 40
host types in the list. One of them is Win NT.

If I choose the wrong host type, I get results similar
to what you report.

By the way, the host machine I connect to most often is not
running ServU software, but for some reason I get the
best results telling WSftp to use the ServU settings.
