The first thing we need to ask ourselves when something of this nature comes to us is whose
interests does it serve. In the few times in my school when someone has received an obscene
or threatening email message from another, by looking into the matter (and making it a
learning situation for all involved), we usually find that when hurtful or unthinking mail is
sent in one person's name, that there's usually another person behind it.
I feel very suspicious that an ALA person would do this; It serves the needs of someone of
anti - ALA sentiments much more.
