This sounds very much like a known problem with beta versions of IE5 and
Acrobat; the solution was either to hit reload or hit back and the
forward.  I've seen several reports that this problem went away with the
official release, and that has been my experience also.  FWIW, I'm using
Acrobat Reader 4 beta, which is proving to be not only pretty stable but
*much* faster at opening PDF pages than 3.02.
