High School Virtual Library

I've read with some interest recent mail regarding the purpose and
organization of library Web sites and would welcome comments on our
library site at http://www.canandaigua.k12.ny.us/academy/library/.

Our purpose is to support the school's curriculum, provide a single
point of entry to the Internet for student research, develop a medium in
which we can link divergent Internet resources like online periodical
databases, regional and local library catalogs and Web page resources,
and to support instruction, in labs and on the fly.  It is a low
bandwidth site favoring when we can the top fold of the page. We have a
help form to support students via email after hours and on the weekends.
I get about one or two students a week requesting help, some of which
are not students at our school.
