[WEB4LIB] Microsoft Access: a second try to get info.

By design, I suspect, the Save as HTML features of Access are pretty
limited. You will find a lot of information about using Access through
products that more thoroughly support Access as a web data source. ASP will
work, it is free, and it is somewhat integrated with FrontPage, I believe,
but you may find it rather stifling. Then again, if you can deal with
FrontPage follies, then ASP should be no problem.

I haven't found much in the way of Internet resources regarding Access that
do more than the most basic of explanations, but there are, of course, many
many good books that you can find browsing through a bookstore. I personally
recommend the Access Bible and the Access Developer's handbook, with the
caveat mentioned in the next paragraph.

I understand your frustration at having alternate products and platforms
recommended, but you are basically asking for help to get Access alone to do
something that it isn't really meant to do. You are at least going to need
some kind of accessory package (or, I suppose, you could roll your own using
Access Basic or even Perl, but that could be real time consuming) that is
designed to handle the area between your DB's and HTML output, whether it be
Cold Fusion (my personal favorite), ASP, Perl/odbc, etc.
