Description:
Participants will learn strategies for evaluating information found on the Internet. We
will apply techniques that mirror those used to evaluate books and other standard
resources. Hands-on exercises will provide practice in judging Internet resources for
collection development according to criteria such as authority, accuracy and reliability.
Recommended sites and aids will be reviewed.

Who should attend:
Reference Librarians, trainers and those responsible for collection development,
acquisitions or for building library web sites.

Prerequisite: Experience searching the Web.
