Converting Access report to html

MS Access 97 does a nice job of converting reports to html, however, my
library wants an Access report published in html as one long continuos
page.  Access maintains the multiple page format when it converts.  I
have exported the report to rtf, opened in Word, and converted to html
there. But the report has two columns which are not maintained after
this process.  Any help for maintaining columns in html would be much
appreciated.  I would like to accomplish this without third party
software if possible.
