Bill,
I have found the following book to be helpful with kids (and "net-new" adults as
well!)

Pedersen Ted. MAKE YOUR OWN WEB PAGE! A GUIDE FOR KIDS. Price Stern Sloan,
1998. ISBN: 0-8431-7459-5

The book provides a nice intro to the web and walks students through 3 stages of
web page design: Imagining the site, planning the site and building the site.
Included in the "building" section is HTML, format, tables, adding graphics,
and linking to other pages. Hope this helps!

THE QUEST FOR CALDECOTT in press, Highsmith Press
