[WEB4LIB] What's scholarly, and what ain't.

I recently did an annotated bibliography (one of those 'guides to 
additional resources') for a forthcoming _New Directions in 
Institutional Research_ (Jossey-Bass) on 'Quality Assurance in 
Higher Education.'  The good folk at JB didn't care if the sources 
were print or web-based, as long as they were useful (sidebar: I 
included MCB's journal, _Quality in Higher Education_ but noted that 
it was overpriced).  As research asst. for the other authors, I 
directed them to a few e-journals, and no one said s/he wouldn't use 
one because it was web-based.  On the other hand, I don't know if 
any of the writers were concerned about tenure.
