Hotmail email are traceable to ip addresses.  I have had spam from hotmail
addresses, and admins at hotmail have revoked the account.

On the other hand, I have known students with 2 or 3 email accounts on
academic servers.  Those also are just as anonymous to me as an account
from hotmail.
