Joint-use facilities

I've searched the archives, but can find nothing on the subject. 
I don't subscribe to the PubLib list, so am asking here for any
information anyone has on combining a public and school library. 
Comments, concerns, issues, etc, would all be greatly
appreciated.  Please respond off-list, since this really has
nothing to do with the web (sorry, Roy)
