Internet Resources Potpourri
10:00-1:00 Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999
Philadelphia Marriott
1999 Midwinter Meeting

You are invited to submit a proposal to become a discussion leader/presenter
as part of the Internet Resources Potpourri discussion forum. Sponsored by
LITA's Internet Resources Interest Group, the Potpourri discussion forum is
loosely modeled after the "Hot Topic Roundtable" sessions held at the 1996
LITA/LAMA conference in Pittsburgh. Each discussion leader will be expected
to give a brief (10-15 min) presentation on an Internet Resource topic
(sample topics below) and lead a roundtable discussion lasting approximately
one hour. Discussion leaders are also strongly encouraged to create a web
page containing background information on the discussion topic several weeks
prior to the Midwinter Meeting. Intended audience includes library and
information professionals in a variety of work environments: K-12, academia,
corporate, government, public and non-profit. Fifty to seventy-five
participants are expected for each session.

Discussion leaders will be selected based on the currency and appeal of the
topic and the leader's experience and qualifications. Invited speakers will
be librarians or other information professionals who are active in their
organizations' internet or Intranet projects.

If you are involved in an intranet or Internet, we hope you will embrace
this opportunity to join your colleagues who share your insights, know-how,
tips, and strategies and could benefit from your insights and experiences.
More than 500 people attended the annual IRIG meeting this past summer in
Washington, DC.
