PROTEUS INTERNET SEARCH SHAPESHIFTS

The metasearch tool Proteus Internet Search has a
new interface and increased functionality.  You can
check it out at http://www.thrall.org/proteus.html
Now users may access Healthfinder.gov, NewHoo
and Metacrawler.  The PolySearch feature has been
updated to search AltaVista, Northern Light and Hot
Bot simultaneously.

For those new to Proteus, this search service allows
you to enter queries once and submit them to
various search engines without any retyping.  This
edition also contains the QueryBuilder buttons that
allow you to designate all terms as mandatory ("+"),
convert terms to a phrase, and construct Boolean
expressions.  Proteus also offers access to Spanish
search services (Ole, Donde, Yahoo Espanol).

This edition of Proteus requires a JavaScript-
compatible browser.  There are separate versions
for Lynx users, children/young adults, and 
advanced netizens.
