downloading, opening, and printing ".eps" files

Sorry if this question has already been discussed, but
does anyone have experience with postscript ".eps" files?

I have found some documents on the WWW that are located on a UNIX server. 
They are Postscript Adobe 2.0, .eps files.  I have had trouble opening 
these files from a Windows95 platform using wordprocessing,
graphics, and postscript reader programs.  Does anyone have any suggestions?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
