The Nebraska Library Commission is accepting applications for Online
Services Librarian to provide information, training, and assistance to
Nebraska library personnel and other Nebraska Library Commission customers
regarding the effective use of networked (online) information services and
resources. Responsibilities include information and training for access
to electronic information resources through the Internet, OCLC, and other
online information services; coordinating efforts in promoting and
providing access to online information services; assist in planning,
evaluating, and arranging access for Nebraska libraries to online
information services; monitoring, selecting, and disseminating information
concerning electronic information resources, trends, and issues.
Qualifications require a master's degree in library or information science
from an ALA accredited institution; minimum of two years library related
work experience, knowledge and understanding of Internet applications,
OCLC products and services, and other networked information services;
knowledge and skill in microcomputer applications, use of communications
software for telecomputing training/troubleshooting; ability to work
effectively in a team oriented work environment; ability to plan, prepare
and present effective instruction to diverse audiences; and possess
excellent communication skills. Valid drivers license required. Starting
