Subject: Position available - Manhattanville College

Electronic Services and Media Librarian

Manhattanville College, a small, selective, independent, coeducational
liberal arts college, is seeking a librarian to provide leadership in the
development, implementation, maintenance, and use of electronic
information resources; CAI software, multi-media/audiovisual programs,
and database systems. Will advise/consult with library and computing
services staff on functions/procedures to maximize effective use of
electronic services; develop training and documentation for library
systems; manage the library web pages; participate in library
instruction; and provide reference service.  This librarian coordinates
collection development in assigned subjects, acting as liaison with
faculty in these subject areas.  This librarian will also oversee the
daily functions and programs of Media Services which provides
audiovisuals and multimedia software and equipment for classroom
instruction; coordinate technical activities for courses and seminars.
Will also assist in the development of procedures and budgets; and
supervise part-time and full-time support staff.  Weekend and evening
work required.

Qualifications:  Required: M.L.S. degree from an ALA accredited program,
excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work
independently and as part of a team to accomplish mutual goals; ability
to adapt to a changing environment with a positive and innovative
attitude.  Preferred: second masters, 2 years experience in an academic
library, working knowledge of database searching.  Desirable: effective
and creative teaching skills; knowledge of Internet sources and systems.
Minimum salary: $29,500 based on qualifications and experience. Excellent
