In my internal assessment, I can only tell you this. Our CD-ROMs with
multi-user licenses is $41,000. To get this same information on the
Internet would cost us $85,000. However, things are not equal here.
PsycLit is an eight user license on our LAN whereas PsycInfo is a site
license based on enrollment. Furthermore, half of our CD-ROMs are
quarterly updates instead of monthly which helps cut down the costs.

Subject: Cost of providing Internet Access

Does anyone have any figures on the cost of providing public Internet
access?

Specifically,

*The cost of ownership for a PC per year
*The cost per PC of Internet access (I know this varies widely)

*The total cost per public Internet PC

Thanks
