If what we are discussing here is "helping" parents and "parental
choice", then why should there be laws requiring ISP filtering, especially
since it is now available in the marketplace? I find it ironic
that many opponents of the nanny state cherish such a state when it
suits their purposes. It is not unhelpful or onorous for "the village"
to require parents to make a free-market choice, rather than making
the choice for everybody.
