Hello, I am new to the list and I hope I can make both a positive
contribution as well as learn from this list.
At the current time I am working on a project with a member of our
systems group that will create a skeletal records in Oracle that we
hope to dump on a weekly basis and import into our catalogue.
I know this may not be the exact place to ask this, however in going
through the archives I came accross a posting by Karen Schneider where
just that question was posed. Since that post, I believe she has moved
on to somewhere else other than the EPA.
Currently we do not get our MARC records from anywhere, LC or OCLC.
However, I need to be able to define a couple of other things for our
guys to get anything close to a semblance of a MARC record. I do have
the CAN/MARC book which defines the standard and what character
positions things fall into.
What would really help if there was someone who could send me a couple
of true MARC records from LC for Monographs. Or if they could point me
in the right direction.
TIA
Bill Pawlowsky
