Automating elementary library

We are currently looking in to automating our elementary school library.  We
have pretty much decided to go with Follette software, as both our local
middle school and high school use it.  We have all Macintosh computers at the
school, except a Gateway which is being set up as our server for our LAN.
Follette is encouraging us to use PC's for the library -- saying that on a
network platform doesn't matter and that their software was designed to be run
on PC's.  Does anyone think that there is any reason to stick to the Macs that
we might not have considered?  Thanks, Chris
