 You can even configure you dot-matric printer attached to the terminal
port as global printer. this also can solve your problem immdtly.

   Here, we have configured  HP  5si MX, printer  on the network port
and using linux for global printing. (i.e) lpr command configured for
network printing. But, this one HP 5si mx is a heavy duty printer which
is costly also. but now adays i think low cost model also supports 
network printing. I think you can have a look at www.hp.com.
