The Amesbury Public Library has the following job opening:

Reference Librarian

Available:  June 8, 1998

Description:
Under the supervision of the Library Director, responsible for the
administration of the Reference Department, including all aspects of
reference and reader's advisory services.  Work at the reference desk,
supervise one Reference Assistant, select reference and circulating
materials, and work as a team with the Children's Librarian and
Director to plan and develop reference services for the library.

Schedule:  Full time, 35 hours per week, including one evening and
rotating Saturdays.

Salary:  $26,104 to start, with benefits

Qualifications:
Masters degree in library science from an ALA accredited school with
specific course work in reference plus two years directly related
experience in a public library, or an equivalent combination of
experience.  Proven ability to work with the public in a pleasant and
positive manner.
