I use the WRAP attribute (supported only by Netscape Navigator).
WRAP="hard" means the user doesn't have to press Enter -  hard return 
characters are automatically inserted.  WRAP="soft" means the user still 
doesn't have to do anything, but  the text is sent to the server as one 
big string.
