Hi Karen--
You'll soon have lots of use of XML of interest to librarians. For example,
one of its subsets (and a superset of HTML) is MathML, which will allow
scientists and mathematicians to use mathematical symbols conveniently in
web documents. See http://www.w3.org/Math/ for this particular portion of
XML.
