Resnick Library at Delhi College invites applications for the
Coordinator of User Services.  We are looking for a highly-motivated,
experienced and innovative librarian to provide leadership for our
rapidly changing instructional program and to manage the Library's
public service desks.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and implement instructional programs with
library staff and faculty.  Advocate for information literacy on campus.
Coordinate activities at the library's two public service desks serving
reference, circulation and reserves.  Design and provide instruction
programs to students, faculty, staff and the greater campus community.
Work with designated academic departments to ensure library resources
meet program needs.  Participate on College, SUNY, and UCT Alliance
committees and task forces.

Candidates should have strong interest and experience in providing
individual reference assistance, collaborating with librarians and
faculty to implement team-based classroom instruction, and creating and
assessing electronically distributed instructional and information
resources.

REQUIRED:  ALA-accredited MLS; several years successful experience in
user services, especially reference and library instruction;
demonstrated effective integration of information technologies within
user services; seasoned managerial skills; exceptional service
orientation; positive interpersonal and communication skills; and strong
commitment to the academic library as a teaching institution.

Experience coordinating staff development programs is preferred.

RANK:  Assistant or Senior Librarian; faculty, tenure track position
with 12-month contract.  Salary range: minimum $35,000.  Limited evening
and weekend hours required.

ABOUT DELHI COLLEGE:

Delhi College is nestled in a beautiful rural region on the
western foothills of the Catskill Mountains, in the village
of Delhi, New York. Delhi is the county seat of Delaware County,
and is approximately 60 miles east of Binghamton; 75 miles west
of Albany, and 25 miles south of Oneonta.

The College offers Associate degree programs ranging from liberal arts
to veterinary science, and certificate programs from carpentry to
welding. Delhi recently launched its first Bachelor's  Degree, in
Hospitality Management. Approximately 2000 students attend the College,
drawn from around New York State.

Delhi is a member of the UCT (University Colleges of Technology), a
unique partnership of the five SUNY Colleges of Technology.  UCT members
are linked through a dedicated distance learning and videoconferencing
network, offering courses and developing  programs and services to serve
students at all five institutions.

Resnick Library has a staff of eight; the small professional staff is
very dynamic and team oriented.  Individuals work in areas where they
excel in our flexible organization.  The library is automated with its
second generation library system (DRA/MultiLis), and will migrate to a
new system by 2001.
Students can access CD-ROM multimedia and online resources in the
library; electronic resources are also available to off-campus students
via the library's web page.  The College is dedicated to the use of
technology as an integral part of the students' education.
