There's a guy at MIT (of course), whose name escapes me at the moment, who
is working on something like this. As I recall, it's a thin sheet (not
paper thin), actually I guess it's two sheets, and in the middle is
something like black particles of some composition that react to electric
stimuli to form text. I'm not a scientist by any stretch of the imagination
so I may be botching this description badly. I think I read about it in
Wired? I don't know what sort of success he's having. There are probably
others working on similar devices. Maybe one of the listmembers from MIT
can chime in on this.
