Look Bob, I said I would abide by the Roy's new policy. I think he
does an excellent job and I sympathize cause I run two listservs
myself. I don't know how long you've been on the Internet mister, but
folks who subscribe to a list usually feel like they belong to a
community. I'm sure I'm not the only one hear who would have
appreciated a chance to opine on the new policy. A community,
especially a bunch of librarians, should be able to discuss this
matter.
You should also be aware that the nature of fair use in cyberspace is
an issue that is far from settled. Personally I'm opposed to such
idiocies as copyright and intellectual property, because as it was
once said "Property is theft." I don't expect you to agree with me,
but let me point out that I'm not the only librarian who feels this
way.
I will post whole articles on other, more open lists, but I will
respect the nature of this list and follow Roy's guidelines.
Bob, don't expect ideas which make you uncomfortable to go away. And
don't give us that pseudo-intellectual garbage about the "law."
You find my name on that law and I'll abide by it.
Chuck
