I am designing the most basic web page developmemt approach to pitch to
faculty who have very little time and moderate interest. These faculty
members are "temporarily" stuck with 486 computers running 4Ram. They
want to modestly step into technology , be able to maintain their own
pages from semester to semester, and get a sense of being a little
closer to technology even though their presence on the Web is entirely
for purposes of student direction and instructional housekeeping. I
believe they will pursue the more dynamic aspects of the net after they
take this first step.

I have decided to create three handouts of three styles of syllabi web
pages. The faculty member will chose one. The handouts will be identical
to the eventual Web page. When faculty drop the transparency film over
the handout, the coding (red) will fall around the appropriate text.
This will be their guide. They will have an example of HOW their page
will look as well as a template of HOW to develop their page.

Has anyone done this? Does it sound like a viable approach--however
minimalist? Do you have any suggestions regarding this issue?

Thanks for reading my post.
