Customized search software

A request for help:

I have been looking for a piece of software for several weeks now that will
search a list of websites (several hundred URLs) for certain keywords (that
I can enter) on a regular basis.  I have tried websnake, webcompass,
newbot, and a couple of others without success.  I am surprised that it has
been so difficult to find such a program. Does anyone out there know of
such a tool?
