as far as solicitation is concerned, we're thinking at this point of
putting up a "submit a URL" thingie on each of our reference "links" web
pages, as well as making our interest known via print sources here on
campus...
what we're in the process of doing right now is publishing those
"selections" by including them on the reference "links" pages,
categorized by major and minor offered here at the college...our next
step will be to begin filtering them and "adding value" by annotating
them on the web site...we're looking at having our student workers and
reference personnel alike write these annotations, and then a couple of
us will be "editors" of the annotations...
those sites most useful will then be added to our web based catalog as
well, giving access via the "traditional" avenue of the opac, and the
"cutting edge" of the web...
what's interesting to me is that the actual cataloging on the opac will
provide more access points, controlled access points at that, but will
probably be the avenue least "accessed"...
