Getting indexed on AltaVista

The page that you submit will indeed be recorded. It will take longer 
for your entire site to be recorded. And even then, Alta Vista will 
only index a portion of your pages.

You can check for all your pages already in the index by using the 
tips here:

You can get more information about why all your pages won't get 
recorded here:

http://searchenginewatch.com/avsize.htm

And again, if you have a specific page you want in the index, submit 
it. That page, or any page you submit, will indeed appear within 1 or 
2 days, in most cases.
