ALA ANNUAL:  THIRD ANNUAL REFERENCE RESEARCH FORUM

AGENDA:	     Formal presentations and informal discussion
MODERATOR:   Dr. Michael Havener, Committee Member and Associate 
             Professor, School of Library and Information Studies, 
             University of Oklahoma.

STRUCTURE:   FIRST HOUR: two 25 minute formal presentations + question 
		and answer period

	     PRESENTATION 1: "Measuring the Reference Value of Web Page 
		Design"; Marcia B. Evans (Catalog Librarian, The University of 
		Alabama) 

	     PRESENTATION 2: "Flying off the Shelves or Gathering Dust?:
		Reshelving Statistics as a Measure of Patron and Staff
		Usage of an Academic Reference Collection"; Jeanie M. Welch (Reference 
		Unit Head, The University of North Carolina at Charlotte) 

		
             SECOND HOUR: Committee members will distribute a draft 
		document designed to answer questions that might arise during
		the development and execution of a research project.  Audience
		members are invited to assist in a discussion aimed at 
		evaluating and improving this document.
