A background image is tiled, so its pattern repeats itself to fill the
page. The only way for a background image not to apparently repeat
itself would be to make it as big as the screen (for example, 480x640);
it would still be tiled on a screen wider than that, but it would not
look tiled on a 480x640 screen. Of course, the bigger the image, the
longer it takes to load...
