Do people "pass by" plain-text sites?

Geez ... let's hope not.

It's been my experience that content-rich sites get their richness from
the text they contain, not the graphics. Sure, they're nice to look at and
add a bit of interest (along with bandwidth) and many of the pictures
occasionally complement the text.
