With any luck, we have all only just begun to fight.  This is a complex
issue with more greys than blacks and whites.  It's going to be
uncomfortable at times and merely annoying at others, but it's how the
process works.  The sooner the library community comes to whichever
collection of voices that exist, the sooner that it will be impossible
to identify a "library position."  That means good news for libraries,
because it will help depoliticize the issue.  The sooner the public sees
that people in the library community are as divided and concerned as
they are, the less likely they are to start identifying "libraries" as
part of the problem.  It takes lots of wind out of the sails of the
zealots.
