children accessing porn; adults turning off filterware

I am curious where you see the connection between the actions of the
government of Singapore and the question of whether it is a good idea to
allow children access to "provocative" material in taxpayer-subsidized
libraries in the United States. The original thread had absolutely
nothing to do with whether people have the right to post material on the
'net nor did it address whether adults have the right to read the
material. The law of this land until the Congress gets stupid again is
that both assertions are true. There might be a Singapore connection
were the thread about such issues, but it isn't. What in your opinion
is the case to be made for the idea that children should have access to
such material in public libraries in the United States?
