I'd recommend Komarinski's book, although the index leaves a lot to be
desired. I'd also recommend Patrick Volkerding's book "Linux Configuration
and Installation", if you're planning to install the Slakware distribution
(Linux has various distributions, such as Slakware, Red Hat, etc.). It
includes the distribution on CD-ROM, which is helpful. My version of Linux
(Slakware 3) runs smoothly, much more so than Win 3.x or 95, or even Mac,
but configuration can be daunting.
You might also want to try the Linux home page <http://www.linux.org> and
the UNC sunsite site <http://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/Index.html>. There
are also a number of Usenet news groups (comp.os.linux.*) where you can ask
questions.
