Library Technology Consultant:  Provides instruction and support for library
related 
applications of microcomputer based technologies and the Internet in a
state-wide library 
network. Duties include maintaining two microcomputer CD-ROM bibliographic 
databases, networked information services, including Internet, WWW, and HTML, 
conducting group presentations and teaching library microcomputer automation
and 
Internet workshops.  

QUALIFICATIONS:  MLS Degree and three years library microcomputer experience, 
including local library systems, hardware/software, knowledge of MARC, database 
creation and maintenance, HTML, Internet training; history of working with
librarians in a 
consulting capacity; working knowledge of PCs and peripherals, and Internet;
effective 
oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated
analytical and 
organizational skills.  Desirable:  experience in developing and supporting
community 
information resources, JAVA/CGI  script writing, WEB server maintenance, 
microcomputer training, writing grant proposals, working effectively as a
team member.

marketing activity for 75 libraries in 16 county Bloomington area, assesses 
member needs and helps develop member library services;  serves as the 
Bloomington Field Office manager.  Travel required.

QUALIFICATIONS:  MLS degree and three years library experience; history of 
working with libraries in a consulting capacity; effective oral, written and 
interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated analytical and organizational 
skills.  Highly desirable:  Service and product marketing experience.

resource sharing and reference products (including ILL and FirstSearch),
PASSPORT 
software, microcomputer hardware and software, dial-up, Internet and WEB
access.

and organizational skills.  DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:  Development and 
presentation of technical training programs and the ability to work
