windows won't close any suggestions?

Hi all:

On four of our six internet workstations, we have found that among other
things windows for workgroups won't close properly anymore.  We get the
box that says "OK to close windows" and click ok.  The screen will not
black out and we do not get a DOS prompt, but we also can't click on any
of the windows which still appear to be on the screen.  I'm having no
luck with Windows or Unisys support.  Anybody got any ideas?
