Re advertising our skills, an ALA Council member, Marvin
Scilkin (editor of The Unabashed Librarian), made this point quite
eloquently at the ALA presidential candidates' forum this past
Monday.  Interestingly, Marvin does not have email or Internet
access, though he is supposed to get an email account very
shortly.  I told Marvin many librarians were voicing his point of
view on the Internet and he seemed somewhat intrigued.
